Whimsie Wellness

We're all seekers in one form or another. We're all here for some purpose, some beautiful mystery that makes our own individual journey unique and magical. Discovering that purpose is hard work! Making our way through life, we pick up stress, we pick up toxins, we pick up unneeded junk that doesn't serve us.

What if I said there is way for jewelry to help keep us grounded, focused, and full of light? Something so beautiful, simple, made from elements of the earth, to keep us aligned with our natural purpose, and to remind us to let go of anything that isn't raising us up?

This is why I created the Whimsie Wellness line.

Natural Stress Relief, Made from Earth Elements

The Whimsie Wellness line is a wide variety of designs, curated into a beautiful collection, strung together with a few common elements. Firstly, Whimsie Wellness line pieces, like all Whimsie jewelry, are made from sustainably recycled precious metals, largely sterling silver, and sometimes with accents of brass, bronze, or copper. Secondly, Whimsie Wellness pieces feature dually finished and unfinished cabochons, made from fired earthenware, gathered here in New England (more on that below). Thirdly, gemstones and crystals included in Whimsie Wellness pieces are sourced from responsible artisans and sellers, within the United States when possible in order to support U.S. Lapidary Artists. Lastly, all Whimsie Wellness pieces are cleansed, saged, and a Reiki prayer said over them when they are completed.

The Whimsie Wellness line is truly a culmination of artists, inspirations, and earth's most plentiful, sustainable resources -- all pulled together to bring you a natural means of relaxation and grounding.

Essential Oil Diffusing

The cabochons used to create the centerpieces of the Whimsie Wellness line are made from fired earthenware which have both finished and unfinished surfaces.

This unique combination of finished and unfinished properties allow the essential oil(s) to both burrow into the porous material, and also to be warmed by your skin and diffuse as you wear your piece.

Simply add one drop of your favorite essential oil to the back of your piece, and allow the relaxing diffusion to happen throughout the day. You can change the oil you use on your piece at any time, as usually every 2-3 wears you will apply a new drop.

"Essential Oils are organic compounds extracted from plants with tremendous healing properties. Using essential oils for healing purposes is often called aromatherapy, which is a holistic treatment seeking to improve physical, mental and emotional health.

For over 5,000 years, many different cultures have used these healing plant oils for a variety of health conditions. They are often used for relaxation, {...} and most often used as natural medicine."

Crystal Healing

The final ingredient for some Whimsie Wellness pieces are the gemstones and crystals included, all of which add unique and specific vibrations made to heal and bring intention to the wearer.

As shared above, all of the gemstones and/or crystals used in Whimsie Wellness pieces (as with all Whimsie Jewelry) are sourced from responsible and ethical artisans and sellers.

Crystal selection can be a very special process that we decide upon together during the design phase, based on your needs and intentions. Feel free to ask me any questions about crystal or gemstone properties at any time.

"Crystal healing is a technique in which crystals and stones are used to cure ailments and protect against future diseases. The crystals act as a conduit for healing by allowing positive energy to flow into the body, whilst providing a pathway for negative energy to flow out.

The practice of using crystals to heal has been seen since the very early days of humanity, in the form of amulets and talismans, although we have no real way of knowing the earliest date that these objects were used."

Two Small Businesses, One Exciting Collaboration

Pitch Pine Pottery & The Whimsie first came together in the Spring of 2016. Tara & Mackenzie (that's me) vibed from the beginning, exchanging goods and wares and enjoying each other's art right from the start. A few months later, Pitch Pine sent some cabochon magic to The Whimsie, and the pieces sat in a velvet lined drawer, waiting for the perfect moment to exhale their wonderful ideas into life (the mystical workings of the Muse...).

It wasn't until the summer of 2017, after finishing Reiki coursework and realizing the incredible power of Talismans, as well as the importance of daily grounding, that I realized I had been sitting on magic for months. As fate would have it, an order arrived for a customer who wished to use one of Tara's cabochons in a piece. I happily agreed, and shared my long-awaited idea about a piece that could diffuse oil, and could I pretty please make her custom order an oil diffusing piece? She agreed, with as much enthusiasm as me, and the rest is history!

Tara Brault & her husband are the makers behind Pitch Pine Pottery. They are located right here in New England (just like The Whimsie!), and they make a special type of magic together, Tara with her pottery and Matt with his blacksmithing artistry. They live on the most precious organic farm, a stone's throw from the coast of MA, with their kitties and tortoise (I mean come on, they are adorable). I encourage you to admire and support their work, which can be found on Instagram at PitchPinePottery, and at PitchPinePottery.com.

Part of the reason why I truly believe the Whimsie Wellness line is so special is because each of its components is created with such care and love for its respected craft. Tara & I both love what we do, and we love sharing it with each of you.

Thank you for being here. We hope you find exactly what you need in your Whimsie Wellness piece.
